Frequently Asked Questions

  • What would you recommend a beginner getting?    I would recommend a beginner getting a Stock Short Course Truck (Stock STC) which would be a Traxxas Slash, Losi Strike, or HPI Blitz. They are durable enough for a child to drive but yet easy handling and easy acceleration. Plus, there are a lot of races you can join with a Stock STC due to it popularity.
  • How much does one cost brand new?    Well, it depends on which one you buy. Gina's Losi Strike 2wd (Two wheel drive) RTR (Ready-to-Run) costed about $120 with truck already set up to run, and a remote (battery and charger not included). A brand new Traxxas Slash 2wd costs about $220. But there are upgrades that you have to take into consederation. Gina has about $300 stuck into her Strike already. Tony has about $400 stuck into his Slash. The Team Associated 18R Citroens costed us about $120 brand new with one battery, an overnight charger, remote, spare tools and parts, and car.
  • How much does it cost to race?     The cover charge on racing varies depending on what track you go to. The track we race at (Small World Raceway, Stevens Point, WI and Galaxy Hobby, Plover, WI) charges $10 for the first race, $5 for the second and $2 for the third. Last Man Standing is free as long as you race one other race.
  • What is the age limit?      ANYBODY CAN RACE! There is no age limit to fun! There are no gender cut offs either. Male or female, it doesn't matter.
